Fred Burton Speaks to KXAN on Mass Violence Attacks
I was glad to participate in the roundtable discussion about the history of mass violence attacks in Texas for KXAN Austin. I firmly believe a protective intelligence model is needed to combat the threat, combined with human intelligence. You can read the full KXAN investigative series here:
A Visit to Sheriff Walt Longmire's Cabin
Any fan of the Netflix hit series Longmire should see the Sheriff’s cabin located inside the Valles Caldera National Preserve in the Jemez Mountains about 90 minutes from Santa Fe, New Mexico. The area has elk, coyotes, mountain lions, black bears, eagles and prairie dogs. The cabin is about two miles inside the park along a rough gravel road (backcountry permit needed) and the U.S. Park Service Rangers were awesome. They showed me game camera footage of a huge mountain lion. Interior scenes from the first two to three years of the series were filmed inside the cabin and the view from Walt’s porch is simply stunning.
Fred Burton on iHeart Radio Discussing The Deaths of the American Family in Mexico
Fred Burton at the Clinton School of Public Service in Little Rock
Honored to have spoken at the Clinton School of Public Service, in Little Rock, Arkansas about the life and public service of Bill Buckley. The former CIA station chief was kidnapped and murdered by Hezbollah terrorists in Beirut, Lebanon.
Very nice private library with books donated by President Clinton.
Set-up before the event. Wonderful old building that houses the school.

Bryan Burrough’s book “Days of Rage” may be the best book I’ve read on the violence in the 1970’s from radical domestic terror groups like the Black Liberation Army, the Black Panthers, and The Weather Underground. https://www.amazon.com/Days-Rage-Underground-Forgotten-Revolutionary/dp/0143107976
